PERFORMERS

The algorave at Turkis features live-coded music and visuals by a lineup of international artists, including Nabir (IT), Sarah GHP (US/DE), digital selves (UK), Mads Kjeldgaard (DK), and Darch (DK). Expect a night of mutating rhythms, searing synths, and glitchy visuals created entirely from scratch in front of your eyes.

Darch (DK)

Darch (DK)

He always strives to amplify the atmosphere of the music with his visuals, so it becomes a holistic synesthetic experience. His styles has a DIY-vibe to it with a mix of organic footage, 90s screen savers aesthetic, and a hint of data moshing.

When performing live the code is written and edited on-the-fly, and projected alongside the visuals for the audience to also enjoy the art of coding and to demystify algorithms as something that is out of our control.

Since the early 2010s Søren Peter Mørch aka darch have been VJ'ing and exploring improvising visuals and been a reoccurring visualist at Copenhagen underground venues and events such as Bolsjefabrikken, Basement, Nakke Festival and Festival of Endless Gratitude and have also been performing in Faroe Islands, Tallinn and Riga.

In 2019 he discovered live coding and co-funded Live Coders Collective Copenhagen. Ever since he have been teaching himself and others how to make visuals with code by hosting workshops and algoraves.

Both the music and the visuals are conceived as a warm and welcoming hug, a flood of memories that passes through the lenses of digital and computer manipulation. A merging of the old and the new, where the boundaries between these dimensions are blurred through the recontextualisation of live coding, cassettes, vhs, sampling, field recording, and looping.

These compositions blur the genres of IDM, ambient, drone, and electronic music. His first release, called "Tenere in piedi case in fiamme", was released in January 2024, with which he toured in many European countries (like Spain, French, Germany, Norway…). In May 2025 he released his second work, "I wrote you a love song in algorithms", a more danceable EP, created during his numerous live sets.
